Pre-Kindergarten: 2 -3 years old
We offer the following Pre-Kindergarten groups:
- 5 Full-day classes (8.00am to 3.00pm)
- 3 half days (8.00am to 12.30pm) plus 2 full days (8.00am to 3.00pm)
During Pre-Kindergarten, your child will engage in learning opportunities that build on the skills offered during their time in the toddler programme.
Each child’s bilingual foundation continues to develop through meaningful exposure to English and German.
By working independently, as well as in groups, the children begin to develop a sense of oneself. They also get a better understanding of their feelings by engaging in conversations about empathy, respect and care. Our reflective learning process, guided by our skilled educators, lays the foundation for character development in children. The children's interests inspire play-based learning experiences. Through uninterrupted moments of exploration, children extend their understanding of the world and will
develop thinking skills. The Pre-Kindergarten learning spaces challenge each learner to develop physical skills whilst feeling safe.
During this time, the children are invited to explore their world, formulate thoughts, share ideas and construct meaning through play. Learning may occur inside or outside, with explorations even extending into the shared pod spaces. Educators carefully observe the children in order to incorporate each child's interest and ideas are incorporated into learning experience designed by our expert faculty.
Each morning the children begin their day together. This is a moment to create a community of learners as each child develops social and communication skills. The children sing songs, listen to stories, discuss their ideas and feelings while building on the ongoing learning occurring in the group.
As a preschool that embraces "The 100 Languages of Children," specialised learning is a valued centerpiece of each child's learning journey. During music, children create connections between their ongoing interests and sounds, dances, and rhythms. In sports, the children balance, run, and jump. Through the language of art, children craft their ideas into tangible, visual products.
Rest and Relaxation
This is an oppurtunity for children to take a break and regain energy for this afternoon. The Preschool recognizes that each child has specific needs during rest time and will try to accommodate individual requirements to the best of our ability.
After a morning of learning and shared experiences, this final reflection provides children with the opportunity to internalise their experiences with support and guidance of our trained educators. This final moment of the day also allows for the children to come together one last time, building the sense of community valued by the school.
