Magazine: City Guide Singapore & pdf - August 2017
GESS is a multi-lingual, not-for-profit international school with a distinct European flavour; the 1,500 students from ages 18 months to 18 years comprise more than 50 nationalities. The school has two sections. As an authorised IB World School, GESS's European Section offers tuition in English for students from three years old to hight school across all three IB programmes, the PYP, the MYP and the IB Diploma. As an accredited "Excellent German School Abroad", the German Section of GESS offers all major German school-leaving certificates.
Students in the Pre-Primary and Primary School's German and European Section can select a weekly 90-minutes language enrichment course from the cross-sectinoal Language Enrichment Programme (LEP). LEP courses aim to strengthen vocabulary and fluency through fun and interactive games, stories, arts and crafts, music and more.
A brand new campus is under contruction at Dairy Farm and will open in August 2018.
A word from a teacher
Alison Flinchum, Pre-School English Specialist
"GESS's greatest strength is its people. The school is a true community of learners - a place built on respect and appreciation, where parents, teachers and students work together as a collective to create an environment where children are supported in developing their own unique way of understanding the world.
I'm passionate about the IB curriculum and feel excited when children become aware of their learning. The other day, when confronted with a problem, a four-year-old asked me if we could research possible solutions. He knew where and how to source information and was able to apply research into his learning. It was so exciting to witness!"
