Senior Management
The GESS Senior Management consists of the Principal, the Director of Finance and Administration, the Director of Marketing and Admissions, the Director of Information Technology as well as the Heads of the German, European and the Pre-School Section. They lead the school and work together to translate the school's mission into action and ensure that educational as well as organisational goals are achieved. Members of the Senior Management

Christoph Zänglein, PrincipalEducation: Principal, Deputy Principal, High School Coordinator, Teaching Degree for German Gymnasium in English, German and History at the Julius-Maximilian-Universität Würzburg and the University of Texas at Austin, course of lectures certificate in German as a foreign language Work experience and professional focus: Christoph Zänglein became a teacher at the Johannes-Butzbach-Gymnasium in Miltenberg, after finishing his teacher internship and before he was employed at the German School Istanbul from 1991 – 1997. He taught at the Friedrich-List-Gymnasium Gemünden until 2002, was at the Deutschhaus-Gymnasium Würzburg (advisor of the course of lectures) and returned to a German School abroad (German School Washington, D.C.) from 2004 – 2010, first as the High School Coordinator and then as the Deputy Principal. Being the Deputy Principal at the Bayernkolleg Schweinfurt from 2010 – 2012, he was then assigned to be the Principal of the Alexander-von-Humboldt-Gymnasium Schweinfurt. Since 2009, he was a speaker for the Central Agency for German Schools Abroad (ZfA), the Bavarian Professional Development Academy Dillingen and the Office of the Representatives for Gymnasiums in the region Unterfranken.

André Beinert, Head of German Section
Education: Teaching degree for secondary schools in Mathematics and Physics Academic studies completed at the University of Dortmund Work experience and professional focus: Mr. Beinert taught at secondary school level in Germany before his move to Singapore in 2002 when he joined the German European School Singapore in the German Section. He was promoted to Head of High School German Section in 2006. In addition to that, he was in charge of coordinating all timetables across school. In 2009, Mr. Beinert became Head of German Section and Vice Principal. In this position he is the key person for German education at GESS. Furthermore he gained detailed knowledge of the IB curriculum when he taught various courses in the Diploma Programme of the European Section.

Eva Noorduijn, Head of European SectionEducation: Joint Honours BA in French & International Relations, Reading University, Reading, UK Certificat d'Etudes Politiques, Institut d'Etudes Politiques Paris, France PGCE - French and PE/Games, Homerton College Cambridge, UK CELTA with distinction, International House Lisbon, Portugal
Work experience and professional focus: Mrs. Noorduijn joins GESS from the International School of Geneva and has a great deal of experience in the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum. She has formally worked for the International Baccalaureate regional office in Geneva and in schools in Turkey and Portugal. Mrs. Noorduijn was born in the Netherlands and educated in Holland, England and France. She speaks English, French and Dutch and has learnt Italian, Spanish, Portuguese and Turkish. She truly has an international perspective and has a personal understanding of the issues that third culture children experience.

Laura Munaro, Head of Pre-School Department
Education: MA in Education, University of Bologna, Bologna, Italy MA in Primary Education, University of Bologna, Bologna, Italy Post-graduate in Education, University of Bologna, Bologna, Italy IB Academy, IBO, Philadelphia, USA DITALS II, University for Foreigners Siena, Siena, Italy
Work experience and professional focus: Mrs. Munaro joins GESS from La Scuola International School (San Francisco, CA) and has an extensive experience in teaching and providing leadership in the Primary Years Programme. She has held several positions of responsibility, including PYP coordinator and Languages and Cultures coordinator. Mrs. Munaro is also a trained IB PYP workshop leader and site visitor, and a CIS Visiting Team member. She is committed to a constructivist model of learning and to supporting students become life-long learners.

Joachim Herrmann, Director of Finance and Administration
Education: Diplom-Verwaltungswirt, Academic degree in Public Administration University studies completed in Cologne Work experience and professional focus: After having lived and worked as the Head of School Administration in many different schools and countries like Germany, Philippines, Spain and the USA, Joachim Herrmann has been at GESS since 2010 as Director of Finance and Administration, where he oversees human resources, finance and accounting, property management and customer relations. He is a key person in the school's Project 2017 development.

Maclean Braganza, Director of Marketing and Admissions
Education: Master of Business Administration, James Cook University, Australia
Work experience and professional focus: Maclean has 10 years of experience in the international education sector. He has held senior positions with two Australian universities and handled their strategic marketing and admissions functions. He is committed to improve service standards within his department in order to achieve the school’s strategic plans and brand vision.

Gregory Burgers, Director of Information Technology
Education: BSc in Information Management Business Consultant SAP/ERP Consultant
Work experience and professional focus: Gregory has a track record of over 20 years experience in IT related functions, working in a multitude of different industries across the world. He is experienced in Change Management, Business and IT Transformation Programs and has been at GESS since early 2016 as the overall responsible for anything Technology related (Information Technology, Education Technology and the Learning Resource Centre). Gregory will be instrumental in enhancing the technology strategies at GESS which includes the new campus at Dairy Farm Road.
